Films of the 2009 (Summed up in one sentence or less)
Best of the Year: (In No Particular Order)
The Hangover - I laughed from start to finish, I just hope the don’t ruin it by making the sequel.Star Trek - Redefing the summer blockbuster, I can’t wait too see what Abrams does next.
(500) Days of Summer - Hopeful and heartwarming, I could watch this over and over.
Inglorious Basterds - Makes me want to watch European cinema, congratulations Quentin you’ve done it again.
Up in the Air - Touching and thought provoking, Clooney will win the Oscar.
Honourable Mentions:
The Fantastic Mr Fox - Old school childish fun, exactly what Dahl would have wanted. The Brothers Bloom - Rian Jonson knocks it out of the park yet again with his con man caper follow up to Brick.
Moon - Captivating old school science fiction that has me looking forward to what Jones does next.
Worst of the Year:
Lesbian Vampire Killers - Horne and Corden trying to be the next Pegg and Frost, I don’t think so after this shocking big screen debut.
Film that should be bad that I secretly enjoyed:
G.I. Joe - It was good dumb fun, I have no shame admitting I like this film.
