Films of 2012 - January Edition

So the year begins anew and I kicked off my movie watching with a bang.  I watched twenty two movies in January, that’s the most I’ve seen in a month since I’ve started keeping track.  It helps that it was Woody Allen month at the British Film Institute and I was desperate to see as many of his films on the big screen as I could but it’s also been a surprising good month for movies in general rather than the usual dumping ground that January normally becomes.

  • Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol
  • Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back
  • Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi
  • Annie Hall
  • Manhattan
  • Goon
  • Everything Must Go
  • Before Sunrise
  • Manhattan Murder Mystery
  • The Darjeeling Limited
  • Celebrity
  • Zelig
  • Haywire
  • Shame
  • Everyone Says I Love You
  • The Sitter
  • Wonder Boys
  • Men in Black
  • Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy
  • Shaun of the Dead

Note - Films in bold were seen in the cinema, all others were seen on blu-ray and DVD.

BFI Q & A for Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy

This is fascinating, in fact all of the BFI Q & A’s are great.

It’s nice to hear Gary Oldman speak normally once and awhile too.

If you’re not watching this film on blu-ray you’re doing it a disservice, the transfer is stunning.
